About the Journal

The Journal of Mosaic of Autoimmunity (JMAI) is a gold open access, peer-reviewed journal that aims to publish papers of the highest quality and significance in all areas of autoimmunity. This multidisciplinary journal will give priority to work that provides translational and/or fundamental insight into the workings of the immune system. The areas covered include the entire spectrum of autoimmunity from the molecular and cellular level to autoimmune diseases and clinical applications.
The Journal is particularly focused on autoimmunity and related diseases. These include primarily systemic autoimmune diseases including arthritis, connective tissue diseases and vasculitis, but also immune-mediated diseases and novel aspects of autoimmune diseases will be considered for publication.

Studies can be related to disease pathogenesis, genetic background, environmental and triggering factors, including infections, malignancies, allergies and auto-inflammation.

Diagnostic approach to the disease, epidemiological studies, prognosis evaluation, and treatment interventions will also be considered for publication.

The equilibrium between basic and clinical science is the key substratum allowing JMAI to provide a platform for researchers, clinicians and experts from industry to bring translational research into the clinics representing a novel instrument for a continuous update on autoimmunity.

JMAI places its highest priority on fair and rapid review and speedy publication. Decisions on whether to send a manuscript out for peer review are normally made within two working days of receipt and decisions about publication are typically made within two days of receipt of the referees' reports. All submissions will be subjected to peer-review by independent reviewers and members of the Editorial Board. The scientific quality will be monitored and maintained by a Board of Editors with expertise in autoimmunity.

JMAI publishes original articles as well as comments, research highlights, matters arising from readers and reviews of the literature, narrative and systematic. The journal accepts articles presented at the International Friday Meetings as concise editorials, reviews, brief communications, original papers, and original papers with preliminary data.

The International Friday Meetings are free, online events held on the first Friday of every month, featuring seven leading experts in autoimmunity who present the latest research in the field, attracting over 1000 participants from approximately 104 countries worldwide.

Case reports are considered if they are truly original and are accompanied by a succinct review of the relevant medical literature and how the novel case study advances the field.

The ultimate goal of the journal is to provide readers with relevant information to understand the pathogenesis, deal with novel clinical, epidemiological and therapeutic aspects and provide novel insights into the complex mosaic of autoimmunity.

It is published quarterly online by Scilight Press.
