Crop Physiology and Management in a Climate-Change World
Physiology and Management of Sustainable Crops (PMSC) is announcing a Call for Papers together with the 6th Mexican Congress on Plant Physiology, which was a scientific event hold in the National Centre of Genetic Resources (INIFAP), Tepatitlán de Morelos (Jalisco, Mexico), from 24 to 26 September 2025, organized by several Mexican institutions. It brought together producers, industrialists, entrepreneurs, technicians, researchers, teachers, institutions, students, agents of change, civil servants and the public in general, to contribute to the development and provide knowledge of plant physiology for the different problems that arise in the scientific area and in the Mexican field. We invite academics and researchers attending the 6th Congress of the Mexican Society of Plant Physiology (SOMEFIVE) , as well as other international researchers working on related topics, to submit original papers on the latest advancements in crop physiology and management. Manuscripts will be published, if accepted after peer review, as a Feature Paper Collection in the journal Physiology and Management of Sustainable Crops (PMSC) . Submissions should highlight novel approaches, experimental results, and applications in crop physiology and management in the context of sustainable agriculture. Topics of interest include: Crop physiology under arid and semi-arid conditions Physiology of fodders and crops Physiology of weeds and invasive species Physiology of conservation of plant genetic resources Plant ecophysiology Perspectives and innovation in crop physiology Contributions on any other themes covered by PMSC are also welcome ( https://www.sciltp.com/journals/pmsc/aimscope ). Keywords: Crop ecophysiology; crop management; crop physiology; crops facing climate change; sustainable agriculture. Physiology and Management of Sustainable Crops is a gold open-access, peer-reviewed journal that aims to be a premier journal for disseminating research in the field of crop physiology and management in a context of sustainable agriculture and climate change, welcoming diverse types of contributions (full-length original research articles, rapid communications, comprehensive reviews, insightful perspectives/commentaries, etc.) conducted with scientific rigor and that represent a step forward in knowledge. Contributions may include, but are not limited to : Cutting-edge research and innovative findings. Studies encompassing fundamental or applied research. Studies made both under controlled conditions (growth chambers, greenhouses) and under field conditions at tissue, organ, plant, shrub, tree or canopy level. Studies made on extensive crops (rice, maize, barley, wheat, soybean, sorghum, etc.), woody fruit shrubs/trees, any cultivated plant used for human or animal nutrition, medicinal plants and aromatic herbs widely used in pharmaceutical compounds, gastronomy and perfumery. Studies including any technical approach that helps to understand any crop physiological or management response. Omics (ionomic, metabolomic, proteomic, genomic, etc.), phenotyping technologies (sensors, drones, remote sensing) and models (including crop simulation models) can be incorporated to these studies as tools to investigate the basis of such changes as long as they help to understand physiological responses, and yield or quality changes. Experimental, methodological (tools), theoretical, and confirmatory studies, including datasets, negative results and descriptive works, are welcome, provided they have a sound hypothesis and well-grounded implications. Merely descriptive studies will be excluded.
