Scilight Press is an international academic publishing house specializing in peer-reviewed open-access journals and books. As a global academic publisher with a multidisciplinary focus, we provide a platform for researchers, scholars, and academics to publish their work across various fields of study. We are committed to advancing knowledge and fostering academic discourse.

Founded in 2019 and registered as Australia Academic Press PTY LTD in Melbourne, Australia, Scilight Press established its Beijing office in the same year. In July 2022, we changed our name to Scilight Press Pty. Ltd. and launched our first three journals: the International Journal of Network Dynamics and Intelligence (IJNDI), the International Journal of Automotive Manufacturing and Materials (IJAMM), and the International Journal of Drug Discovery and Pharmacology (IJDDP). To support our growth, we opened a second branch office in Wuhan, China.

The Melbourne office is primarily responsible for business strategy, publication and distribution, legal and financial affairs, and resource integration, while the two offices in China handle journal management, production, marketing, and network technology support. As of June 2024, Scilight Press employs 20 people worldwide, over 98% of whom hold a master's degree or higher with a background in scientific research, and more than 90% have extensive experience in open-access publishing. All editors at Scilight Press are dedicated to providing the best service for researchers, ensuring a smooth and efficient publication experience.

Management Team

• Dr. Zhengchun Yi (Founder of Scilight Press)

  
  Dr. Zhengchun Yi obtained a Ph.D. in Management from Wuhan University, China. He began his publishing career in 2004 as Editor-in-Chief of the Science Education Bulletin. Later, he served as the Editor-in-Chief of Modern Enterprise Culture and the general manager of Media, a magazine under the purview of the National Press and Publication Administration of China. Over the past 20 years, Dr. Yi has expanded the publication business from Chinese social sciences to English STM publishing. Dr. Yi is also the founder of Scilight Press, with a mission to globally disseminate top-notch research findings and provide outstanding publication services to the scientific community.

• Louise Liu (Publishing Manager)

  
  Louise Liu, the Publishing Manager in Wuhan Office, joined Scilight in September 2023. Her responsibilities include providing comprehensive training to Editors on the entire publishing process, implementing standardized management practices, and fostering external collaborations. Louise holds a master's degree in Environmental Enginnering from the South China University of Technology. With a diligent work ethic and nine years of extensive experience in academic publishing, she excels in development planning for publishing, optimizing publishing processes, and managing journal teams effectively.

• Zora Zhu (Publisher)

  
  Zora Zhu, with a master's degree in materials science and engineering, assumed the role of Publisher at Scilight in September 2023. She plays a key role in assisting the editors across all of Scilight's journals with their publishing endeavors and oversees the teams responsible for the materials series journals. With almost eight years of experience in the publishing field, Zora possesses a deep passion for publishing and a strong sense of purpose. She also brings extensive expertise in journal topic selection and planning, editorial team management, and overall journal development and operations.

• Zack Li (Associate Publisher)

  
  Zack Li joined in Scilight Press as Associate Publisher in 2023. He obtained his Master degree in Material Chemical from Shihezi University, China. With more than six years extensive experience in the publishing industry, he is skilled in integrating expert resources, planning topic selection, and comprehensively managing and operating journals. At present, he is mainly responsible for operating the four journals: International Journal of Drug Discovery and Pharmacology (IJDDP), Journal of Medicinal Natural Products (JMNP), Journal of Microbes in Health and Disease (JMHD) and Energy, Water and Air Catalysis Research (EWA Cat. Res.).

Business Model

1. Scilight launches high-quality peer-reviewed journals with Gold Open Access. To foster the growth of these journals, Scilight has established varied APC standards for each journal in line with strategic planning. The reasonable income generated from APCs will be a key factor in ensuring Scilight's sustainable development moving forward. We are not a publisher seeking huge profits, so our incomings only need to match our outgoings for us to be sustainable; any surplus goes back into the business and enables us to publish more academic papers, advancing knowledge and fostering academic discourse.
