Aims & Scope

Health Economics & Finance (HEF) is an international, peer-reviewed publication dedicated to advancing scholarship in health economics, healthcare finance, and global health. The journal provides a platform for the dissemination of high-quality empirical and theoretical research that informs policy, practice, and academic debate in these domains. HEF is published quarterly online by Scilight Press.

The primary aim of the journal is to publish rigorous and innovative research addressing critical issues in public health, with a particular focus on global health, healthcare financing, and economic evaluation. Contributions are invited that examine welfare and health economics, political economy, health equity, and social and economic determinants of health. The journal seeks to promote evidence-based policy discussion and to generate recommendations that can inform decision-making at local, national, and global levels.

The scope of the journal encompasses a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:

  • Healthcare insurance markets
  • Health financial management and budgeting
  • Global health systems and quality-of-life measurement
  • Economic evaluation, including cost–benefit and cost-effectiveness analyses
