Globally, the year 2025 was not as warm as the record year 2024, but it still belongs to the three warmest years ever observed. The global warming goes on and on. We illustrate the link between global temperature variability and ocean-atmosphere oscillations and present the prospects for 2026–2027. We update the information on international climate policy path, emphasizing its so-far successes and failures. Growing confusion can be noted, sparked by some recent policy developments.
