Aims & Scope

Environmental Change and Disease Dynamics (ECDD) is a peer-reviewed international journal dedicated primarily to advancing research on the impact of climate and environmental change on the dynamics of infectious diseases, while also encompassing non-infectious disease dynamics influenced by environmental factors. As environmental shifts increasingly drive the emergence, spread, and patterns of infectious diseases worldwide, understanding these complex relationships is critical for effective public health response. Environmental Change and Disease Dynamics (ECDD) is published quarterly online by Scilight Press.

The journal focuses on cutting-edge studies that explore how environmental factors—including climate variability, land use changes, pollution, and ecological disruptions—affect the transmission and outbreak patterns of infectious diseases. It also welcomes research on the progression and risk factors of environmentally influenced non-infectious diseases.

Key areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

The development and application of advanced analytical methods such as time series analysis, spatial epidemiology, and mathematical modelling to investigate infectious disease transmission dynamics.

Early warning systems that integrate environmental and epidemiological data to predict and mitigate infectious disease outbreaks.

Assessment of environmental and socio-economic risk factors driving infectious disease spread and non-infectious disease incidence or progression.

Studies on the effects of climate change and environmental modifications on vector-borne diseases, zoonoses, and chronic disease patterns.

By bridging environmental sciences, epidemiology, and public health, Environmental Change and Disease Dynamics aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and provide actionable insights for policymakers, health practitioners, and researchers to better predict, prevent, and control infectious and environmentally influenced diseases in a rapidly changing world.
