Aims
The Land Degradation and Restoration (LDR) is a gold open access peer-reviewed journal that aims to be a leading platform for disseminating cutting-edge interdisciplinary research and innovative findings in the field of Land Degradation and Restoration for fundamental understanding as well as for advanced and conventional interdisciplinary, holistic and trans-disciplinary scientific research, innovation and development. This journal seeks to foster an interdisciplinary dialogue among scientists and welcome research developed to understand the role of stakeholders on the degradation and restoration of the land. The journal provides an interdisciplinary forum for high-impact research, reviews, and letters that address the fundamental principles land degradation processes and restoration strategies. It is published quarterly online by Scilight Press.
Scope
LDR explores the scientific knowledge, innovation and development at local, regional, continental and global scales in environmental issues and foster research with the objective to restore degraded land. LDR welcome pure science research papers and applied science research with an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach.
LDR fosters collaboration between fields such as geography, ecology, biology, botany, zoology, soil science, Earth Sciences, geology, hydrology, geomorphology, agriculture sciences, atmospheric sciences, oceanography, urban and rural planning, engineering, mathematics, physics, chemistry, data science, systems science, economics, sociology, demography, anthropology, philosophy, political science, history, archeology, education sciences, journalism and perception disciplines. By emphasizing the significance of the interaction of humans and nature in understanding earth complex systems, it aims to contribute to the development of unified frameworks and methodologies that advance scientific knowledge.
LDR is committed to publishing research that transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries, setting new trends and highlighting novel ideas. It also serves as a platform for interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary exchange, where scientists can share insights, collaborate, and inspire new directions in research. As an open access journal, it ensures the wide dissemination of findings, facilitating global access to the latest advancements. The journal aspires to be a leading publication in the field, shaping the future of interdisciplinary research.
LDR fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and seeks to push the boundaries of scientific inquiry, promoting novel approaches to complex challenges across these fields. LDR aims to be a leading platform for cutting-edge research that reflects the interconnected, interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinarity nature of science itself. Case studies, practical cases, local and regional examples, but also global overviews, model-based studies, and literature reviews on planetary degradation and restoration are welcome.
LDR publishes articles that focus on the key topics of the research, innovation, education and dissemination on land degradation and land restoration studies, and is open to new ideas, findings, approaches and thoughts that will better understand the land degradation processes and the restoration strategies at local, regional and global scales.
LDR covers all research topics of Land Degradation and Restoration and work on the update of the scientific content, review the State-of-the-Art, propose new challenges, share the current knowledge, and promote exchange of findings, education, and scientific dissemination of the degradation of soils, water, flora, fauna, atmosphere, landscapes, and rural and urban areas as a consequence of human activities, and their restoration.
