Aims & Scope

Materials Communications is a new journal disseminating high quality and urgent papers to showcase novel results and approaches of innovative materials research. It places the emphasis on interdisciplinary and innovative materials research to address the key issues and challenges in the field of materials science. The journal provides a forum for materials scientists, chemists, physicists, medical specialists, engineers and other researchers related to the field to exchange new conceptual thinking and scientific findings in the field of materials science and engineering.

Topics of contributions include, but are not limited to:

Design, synthesis, characterization of forefront and emerging materials involving metal, inorganics, soft matter, organic polymers, and composites;

Structural materials with improved performance: the correlation between preparation, structure and properties as well as their underlying mechanisms;

Functional materials with electronic, magnetic, chemical or optical characteristics for energy, environmental, packaging, biomedical, electronic, and catalysis application;

Materials circularity and sustainability: bionanomaterials, bionanocomposites, materials for sensors, and smart materials;

Processing of materials: crystal growth, thin film processing, sol-gel processing, assembly, nanostructured materials preparation, and polymer processing.
