Published on 26 Sep 2025

We are delighted to announce that Prof. Tao Zhang, a member of the Materials and Interfaces Editorial Advisory Board, was awarded the 2025 "Citation Laureates" in Chemistry for his pioneering contributions to the field of single-atom catalysis. He is the first scientist from Mainland China to receive this award!

Tao Zhang, Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Zhang Tao's systematic research in the field of single-atom catalysis has not only exerted a broad academic influence but has also guided and promoted practical industrial applications. Last year, he was also consecutively honored with the Future Science Prize, which is often regarded as China's version of the Nobel Prize.

The Citation Laureates, commonly known as "Nobel Prize Predictor", is selected by a team of experts from the Clarivate Institute for Scientific Information (ISI). This honor is a testament to the profound global influence of his work and further recognizes his original contributions to the field of chemistry.

Please join us in congratulating Prof. Zhang on this exceptional achievement!

Kind regards,
Materials and Interfaces Editorial Office
