Aims & Scope

Aims:

Energy Resources and Sustainability (ERAS) publishes peer-reviewed scholarly articles, including original research papers, reports on pilot and field tests, and comprehensive review articles. The journal places particular emphasis on the exploration and production of earth-based energy and resources—including both fossil fuels and non fossil energy sources—as well as energy transportation, storage, conversion, and technologies related to carbon capture, utilization, and storage. Submissions that employ experimental methods, numerical modeling, optimization techniques, and/or artificial intelligence to address fundamental technical challenges or to present pilot- and field-scale investigations are especially welcome. In addition, the journal accepts research on energy demand and supply, as well as discussion papers that examine policy or regulatory issues influencing the supply and demand of energy resources. It is initially published quarterly online by Scilight Press.

Scope:

We welcome original research articles, reviews, perspectives, and short communications highlighting novel insights, sustainable solutions, and transformative technologies. The journal prioritizes studies bridging theory and experiment with an emphasis on scalability, societal impact, and green chemistry principles. The scope includes but is not limited to:

  • Exploration and Production of Energy Resources: including both fossil fuels (oil, natural gas, coal, etc.) and non‑fossil energy sources (geothermal, hydrogen, critical minerals, etc.).
  • Energy Transport, Storage, and Conversion: covering engineering and scientific challenges in the transmission, storage, and transformation of energy across various forms and scales.
  • Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS): emphasizing technological innovations and applications aimed at reducing carbon emissions and enabling sustainable energy cycles.
  • Methodological Approaches: encouraging the use of experimental techniques, numerical modeling, optimization frameworks, and artificial intelligence (AI) to address fundamental and applied energy challenges. Works spanning from laboratory-scale investigations to pilot and field validations are particularly welcome.
  • Energy Demand, Supply, and Policy Analysis: including studies on energy market dynamics, supply–demand forecasting, and discussion papers that examine the regulatory or policy frameworks affecting energy resource availability and utilization.
