Aims & Scope

iEnergy Storage (iES) is a gold open access, peer-reviewed international journal dedicated to advancing the frontiers of energy storage science, technology, and systems. The "i" in its identity represents a core commitment to three transformative pillars: Innovation, Intelligence, and Integration.

Our mission is to serve as a dynamic platform for the dissemination of high-impact research that not only pushes the boundaries of materials and devices but also redefines how energy storage systems are designed, managed, and deployed within the broader energy ecosystem. iES is published quarterly online by Scilight Press.

Our aims are to publish research that embodies:

Innovation (i): Groundbreaking research on novel energy storage materials, chemistries (beyond lithium-ion), and device architectures. We cover advancements in synthesis, characterization, and fabrication processes that lead to enhanced performance, safety, sustainability, and scalability.

Intelligence (i): The integration of AI, machine learning, and advanced data analytics into energy storage. This includes intelligent battery management systems (BMS), digital twins, state-of-health estimation, predictive control, lifecycle optimization, and smart grid integration for responsive and adaptive energy storage solutions.

Integration (i): Systems-level approaches that enable the seamless incorporation of energy storage across various sectors. This encompasses techno-economic analysis, lifecycle assessment, circular economy models, grid-scale storage applications, vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technologies, and the critical role of storage in enabling high-penetration renewable energy systems.

The scope of iES:

iES serves as a dynamic platform for high-impact research that pushes the boundaries of materials, devices, and system management.

iES welcomes findings derived from:
