Aims & Scope

Aims

Earth Systems, Resources, and Sustainability (ESRS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes original research articles and insightful reviews in the multidisciplinary fields of geoscience, geoenvironment, georesources, and sustainability. The journal seeks to provide a platform for disseminating high-quality research that advances fundamental understanding and practical solutions to global challenges. The journal maintains academic affiliations with the International Association for Gondwana Research (IAGR). It is published quarterly online by Scilight Press.

Scope

ESRS offers a comprehensive platform for high-impact research papers and focused overviews that bridge scientific investigations with Earth's evolutionary history and its sustainable future. The journal welcomes contributions covering, but not limited to, the following topics:

  • Petrologic, geochemical, geochronologic, and tectonic models of Earth’s secular evolution and planetary correlations
  • Distribution, characteristics, and genetic models of major mineral deposits, with emphasis on critical mineral systems
  • Earth system evolution, interactions among the geosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere, and their environmental implications
  • Natural hazards, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies
  • Resource crises, energy security, and climate change impacts
  • Remote sensing, geotechnics, and applications of artificial intelligence in geoscience and resource management
  • Environmental degradation, conservation, and sustainability in the context of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
