Aims & Scope

East West Journal of Psychiatry and Mental Health (EWJPMH) is an international, peer-reviewed journal committed to exploring and integrating diverse perspectives in psychiatry, mental health, and related fields. The journal provides a platform for high-quality, clinically relevant work rooted in both Eastern and Western traditions of care and thought. EWJPMH is published quarterly online by Scilight Press.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:

  • Psychiatry, including diagnostic innovations, treatment models, and clinical outcomes;
  • Mental health, in its broader psychosocial and cultural dimensions;
  • Psychopharmacology, with particular attention to real-world evidence and practice-based research;
  • The responsible use of artificial intelligence in clinical research and psychiatric practice, including AI-assisted diagnostics, treatment personalization, and decision support tools.

While each of these domains is treated independently, the journal encourages submissions that explore their intersections, especially across cultural and disciplinary boundaries.

The journal welcomes the use of artificial intelligence in the drafting of manuscripts and peer reviews, provided that all AI-generated content is explicitly acknowledged and that the final version is carefully reviewed, personally edited, and fully endorsed by the submitting authors or reviewers. The use of AI must support—not replace—human expertise, responsibility, and authorship.

EWJPMH aims to foster a global and balanced dialogue—between science and practice, biology and culture, innovation and ethics—while maintaining rigorous standards of quality and clinical relevance.
