Abstract

In the following, I recall my personal memories of the conception, design, construction and operation of particle accelerators and particle colliders over the 50 years from 1972 to 2022. This is not a technical report, but more a review to give an insight to the historical beginnings and endings of some of the world’s most technically complex and expensive scientific instruments.
