Aims & Scope

Intelligent Matter (IM) is a peer-reviewed, international, interdisciplinary, and open-access journal that focuses on all kinds of previously unknown and innovative matters that can be applied in emerging fields in an intelligent way. Artificial intelligence is accelerating the development of unconventional computing paradigms inspired by the abilities and energy efficiency of the brain, which will be widely used in the future in various areas and is expected to drive our society quickly move forward. Within, all kinds of matters will be exploited for their implementations. As such, the journal welcomes research, but is not limited to the following scope.

1) Soft-matter includes those with the function of the responsive, embedded memory, adaptive, etc., for intelligent implementations.

2) Solid-state matter includes molecular materials, 2D materials, nanoparticle assemblies, and other materials used in artificial intelligence with the same function as that of the above soft matter.

3) Emerging neuromorphic materials that can allow for the realization of artificial neurons and synapses in artificial neural networks.

4) Unknown and innovative matters that are theoretically predicted with material-based learning algorithms for intelligent implementations.

Intelligent Matter (IM) provides full-length research articles, reviews, topical perspectives and opinions, and other editorial content of general interest to the matters that can provide a platform of inspiration for the future science community. It is published quarterly online by Scilight Press.
