Aims & Scope

Aims:

Metal Oxides is a new journal with a focus on oxide materials’ properties, synthesis and activity. Metal oxides are central to many phenomena in nature and applications in the chemical, energy, materials and electronic industries. These includes catalysis, photocatalysis, electrocatalysis, biomaterials interfaces, optoelectronics and corrosion science among others. The objective of the journal is to bring together expertise in the fundamental aspects of metal oxides to serve as a vehicle to progresses related to cutting-edge materials design and synthesis.  It will cover feature, perspective, review articles, and original research papers and letters. High quality work on metal oxides and their interfaces is welcome for submission.  While fast dissemination of the accepted work is essential for researchers, this will be after a careful reviewing process that may involve multiple steps to access of its suitability. It is anticipated to serve as a hub for transferring and sharing knowledge at the experimental and theoretical levels of research, and is published quarterly online by Scilight Press.

Scope:

It will include but not limited to the following topics:

  • Metal oxides properties: bulk, surfaces, and interfaces
  • Surface reactions of metal oxide relevant to catalysis, corrosion science, and light matter interactions.
  • Interfaces in electronic, optoelectronic, and energy generation and conversion devices.
  • Electronic and vibrational spectroscopic as well as microscopic studies of metal oxides surfaces and interfaces.
  • Computation of structural, electronic and optoelectronic properties of metal oxides.
  • Lanthanide and actinide oxides.
  • Surfaces of nanostructured metal oxides.
  • Time resolved spectroscopic techniques to study charge transfer within and at the interface of semiconductor and insulator metal oxides.
