Aims & Scope

Aims

Photonic and Quantum Waves (PQW) is a peer-reviewed international journal dedicated to the dissemination of cutting-edge research on fundamental and applied aspects, both theoretical and experimental ones, of the broad area of wave phenomena in optics, photonics, and quantum matter. The journal provides a platform for high-quality original research articles, reviews, and perspectives that advance fundamental understanding and practical applications of the wave and pattern-formation phenomenology in optics, photonics, and quantum science, as well as in related areas, such as the mathematical analysis of the wave propagation. The journal aims, in particular, to foster the cross-disciplinary interplay between physics, applied-mathematics, materials-science, electrical-engineering, quantum-technology, and information-science communities. By publishing novel theoretical developments, experimental discoveries, and emerging applications, PQW seeks to accelerate innovation in these and related fields. It is published quarterly online by Scilight Press.

Scope

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, theoretical and experimental studies in the fields of

  • Linear and nonlinear wave propagation and pattern formation in classical and quantum optics and photonics
  • Linear and nonlinear wave dynamics in quantum matter and engineered materials
  • Nonlinear and ultrafast optics
  • Nanophotonics, plasmonics, and metamaterials
  • Quantum phonics, quantum communications, and quantum information processing
  • Light–matter interactions at the atomic, molecular, and nanoscale levels
  • Photonic devices, circuits, and integrated systems
  • Applications of photonic and quantum wave technologies in computing, technology, biomedical studies, and beyond
