Aims:
Soil Ecology (SE) is a peer-reviewed, open-access, multidisciplinary international journal for high-quality research focusing on the ecology of soil organisms and soils. The journal aims to serve as a leading platform for publishing novel disciplinary and interdisciplinary work on the structure and functioning of soil biota populations and communities from microorganisms to vertebrates. The journal aims to stimulate new ideas and inspiration by showcasing research from the cutting edge of its field. Soil Ecology is published quarterly online by Scilight Press.
Scope:
Soil Ecology publishes original research articles, review papers and short communications dealing with all aspects of the ecology of soil biota and soil processes. We welcome community- and process-oriented studies from both basic and applied fields. Original articles are expected to adopt a hypothesis-driven approach and contribute to the mechanistic understanding of the structure and functioning of biota in soil. Review articles are expected to provide an overview on a broader area of soil ecology, offering more than just a summary of a specific research field. Short communications are expected to focus on a single novel finding of general interest to researchers in the field.
