Structural Materials and Engineering

Editor-in-Chief: Prof. Pizhong Qiao, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China.

Materials, Mechanics and Structures are the intertwined and cross-disciplinary subjects addressing the critical issues and sustained development in the area of structural engineering in general. While structural engineering is traditionally viewed as a sub-branch or sub-discipline within civil engineering, though many other engineering disciplines such as aerospace, mechanical, and ocean/marine engineering contain similar structural components and systems. In all these mentioned engineering disciplines, they involve various structural materials used, with the aid of mechanics in analysis, design and optimization. In the overall design analysis philosophy and criteria, the analytical (or theoretical), experimental, and numerical tools are employed for characterization and visualization of structural response.
