Space, Tech and Economic Progress (STEP) is a gold open-access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research and insights within the rapidly evolving NewSpace ecosystem. The journal covers a wide range of topics, including but not limited to space sustainability, space situational awareness, emerging markets, technological advancements, and international regulation and compliance. STEP aims to serve as a leading interdisciplinary platform for disseminating innovative research and facilitating dialogue across scientific, technological, economic, and policy dimensions of space development. It is published quarterly online by Scilight Press.
Scope:
Space, Tech and Economic Progress (STEP) welcomes original research articles, opinions, insights, and reports on technological developments spanning all aspects of the space economy and its applications. The journal recognizes the complexity and challenges of both utilizing and safeguarding orbital ecosystems, with particular emphasis on Low Earth Orbit (LEO) operations.
Submissions should demonstrate strong relevance to the areas outlined below and hold broad interdisciplinary and international interest to our diverse readership. We particularly encourage contributions that address emerging, topical, and high-impact issues within the global space sector.
STEP publishes articles focusing on, but not limited to, the following areas:
