Aims & Scope

Aims

Ceramic Research (CR) is an international, peer-reviewed journal published quarterly online by Scilight Press. It aims to promote innovative research focused on the synthesis of materials from a variety of precursors or raw material and their conversion into high-quality ceramics with optimal properties. New methods using artificial intelligence for optimizing synthesis, quality and properties of ceramic materials will also be considered. This journal encompasses a wide array of ceramic studies, but it will highlight works exploring the societal applications of ceramics, such as energy, health and the environment. In keeping with contemporary concerns, the journal pays particular attention to atom-saving synthesis methods using abundant, inexpensive sources, favoring sustainable and accessible approaches. The final properties of ceramic materials, crucial to their applications, are also at the heart of published research. Ceramic Research warmly welcomes submissions that capture the latest trends in original full-length research articles, short communications, as well as reviews.

Scope

The scope of Ceramic Research encompasses the following areas:

  • Synthesis of ceramics by non-conventional approaches (sol-gel, polymer-derived ceramics…)
  • Large-scale methods
  • Processing of ceramics
  • 3D printing of ceramics
  • Characterization of ceramics
  • Non-destructive evaluation of properties
  • Properties of ceramics (thermal, structural, tribological…)
  • Nano-ceramics (nanostructured, nano-scale…)
  • Engineering ceramics (high-temperature structure ceramics; wear-resistant ceramics; anti-corrosion ceramics)
  • Ceramics for aerospace
  • Ceramics for military applications
  • Ceramics for electronics (dielectric ceramics; piezoelectric ceramics)
  • Ceramics for sensors
  • Ceramics for energy
  • Ceramics for optics
  • Ceramics for magnetic materials
  • Ceramics for health (biomedical, prosthesis, transplant, tissue engineering…)
  • Ceramics for the environment
  • Modelling aspects
