All articles published in Habitable Planet are Gold Open Access: immediately freely available to read, download, unlimited use, and reuse of articles. All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0). An Article Processing Charge of 1000 USD will be applied for each accepted manuscript. Local VAT or Sales Tax will be added if applicable. Editorial items (Editorials, Corrections, Additions, Retractions, Letters, Comments, Book Reviews, etc.) are published free of charge if accepted. Articles accepted for publication in the first and second volumes (2025, 2026) of the Journal will be free open access with no article processing fee for authors, which will be paid by the International Association for Gondwana Research (IAGR).
Appropriate consideration will be given for a waiver providing the paper has already met the scientific and editorial standards required for publication in Habitable Planet. For authors publishing in Habitable Planet, Scilight Press offers waivers and discounts to corresponding authors based in low- and lower middle-income countries and locations classified by the World Bank.
