Aims
The journal Nonequilibrium Physics (NP) is a gold open access, peer-reviewed journal that aims to publish high-impact, theoretical papers and original research that advances the understanding of nonequilibrium dynamics across classical, quantum, biological, and complex systems. We are committed to fostering interdisciplinary collaboration by bridging diverse fields and perspectives, while also highlighting emerging trends and future directions in nonequilibrium statistical mechanics, quantum thermodynamics, and quantum technologies. Through the dissemination of cutting-edge theoretical and experimental studies, the journal seeks to stimulate innovation, deepen fundamental insights, and drive progress in this rapidly evolving and profoundly interdisciplinary area of science. It is published quarterly online by Scilight Press.
Scope
Nonequilibrium Physics (NP) is a field both deeply rooted in scientific tradition and rapidly evolving through modern experimental and theoretical breakthroughs. While it has long been understood that natural processes occur under nonequilibrium conditions, recent advances have enabled unprecedented exploration of the fundamental timescales governing the evolution of matter—from chemical reactions and biological processes to phase transitions and emergent phenomena.
The journal embraces the inherently interdisciplinary nature of nonequilibrium physics, which bridges physics, chemistry, biology, ecology, and cosmology. The journal NP publishes articles that focus on, but are not limited to, the following areas:
