By searching the domestic literature on English teacher feedback from 2011 to 2021, this paper reviews the research on the three main functions of English teacher feedback, namely language function, cognitive function and emotional function, and then summarizes the characteristics and trends of the research on feedback language from the aspects of research perspective, research methods and research objects. Furthermore, some problems existing in the current research are found, and the future development trend of the research is prospected, in order to provide directions for future research.
