Towards Sustainable Photocatalysis! The cover illustrates a win–win photocatalytic strategy that combines the selective oxidation of p-xylene with hydrogen peroxide production, using propylene carbonate as a green solvent. The roles of quinone and acridinium as organic photocatalysts in harnessing visible light are highlighted through mechanistic studies employing transient spectroscopy and EPR analysis.
The luminescence in the flask is generated by a quinone under UV irradiation. Artwork by Tao Wu; the special flask featured in the image was fabricated by Mauro Meneghetti.
